The B Love Essential High Set includes three friction mallets (#2, #2.5, and #3) designed to bring out the upper range of a gong's sound. Rather than striking the gong, you gently draw the silicone heads across its surface, producing bright, high-pitched singing tones, shimmering overtones, and delicate, whale-like sounds.
Each size responds a little differently, giving you more ways to explore the higher frequencies of your gong. Their small, lightweight heads and carbon fibre handles allow for precise control and subtle changes in sound. They can be used on gongs of different sizes, with the response depending on the instrument.
Flumies are handcrafted by Bear Love and his team in the mountains of West Wales, UK. The number indicates the head diameter in centimetres: a #2 has a 2 cm head, for example.

Construction
Each Flumie is made with B Love's own silicone compound, designed for durability and easy cleaning with a damp cloth. The lightweight carbon fibre handles are strong and rigid, providing precise control during playing.
Playing
Place the head against the gong and draw it slowly and gently across the surface. Experiment with speed, pressure, and position to find different singing tones and overtones. Switching between the three sizes lets you explore different parts of the gong's upper range.
