Why Koshi?
Handmade in the French Pyrenees
Koshi chimes are made by hand in a small workshop at the foot of the Pyrenees. Eight tuned rods are silver-welded to a metal plate at the base of a bamboo resonance tube. As the chime rings, the overtones of the shorter rods gradually take over and the sound keeps shifting rather than simply fading. Each of the four elements is tuned to its own scale, and all four play together in tune.
